About
OpenRCT2 is an open-source re-implementation of RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 (originally written by Chris Sawyer in x86 assembly). It adds modern platform support, an improved interface, better guest and staff AI, more editing tools, raised limits and cooperative multiplayer, and can load the original RollerCoaster Tycoon scenarios too.
It needs the original RollerCoaster Tycoon 2 data files from Steam or GOG. On first start OpenRCT2 looks for a Steam install of RCT2 (or RCT Classic) by itself; otherwise it asks you to locate the game folder or a GOG installer.
